New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries backpackers or anyone else can visit, with volcanoes, glaciers, geothermal activity, luscious bush, awe-inspiring mountains, endless stretches of beaches, abundant wildlife and much, much more. However, if you’re thinking about visiting to New Zealand, passport and visa organisation is key that you must prepare firstly. You will need to apply for a visitor visa before you come to New Zealand if you are not from a visa-waiver country.

Vietnam-legal.com would like to list all documents required for New Zealand Tourist – Visitor Visa:

1. Visitor Visa Application Form

2. Personal documents:

+ Original passport/ Certified copy of your passport (all pages) if you cannot submit your passport at lodgment stage

+ 2 recent passport sized   photos of passport quality

+ If you are including your partner or dependent child in your application, please submit evidence of your relationship to them, such as your household book, your marriage certificate, your child’s birth certificate.

+ If your dependent child is included in your application but the child’s other parent is not traveling with you, please provide a consent letter for the child to travel, from the non0-accompanying parent, certified by the local authority.

+ Your all-page household book (Vietnamese nationals only)

+ Vietnamese identity card (Vietnamese nationals only)

+ Curriculum Vitae authorized by your local authority

+ Family Supplementary Questionnaire

3. Financial documents:

+ Evidence of your ability to fund your stay in New Zealand, and your outward travel from New Zealand. As a guide, this should be approximately USD 750 (NZD 10000) per month.

+ Evidence of sufficient funds could be:

–   A completed Sponsorship Form for Temporary Entry, or

–   Bank deposit books showing a saving history (Note: any newly opened account or recent large deposit must be explained, with supporting evidence as to where the money has come from)

–   Bank statements, payslips

–   Credit card statements and limits

–   Other accessible and readily available funds that belong to you

4. Employment documents:

+ If you are employed, a letter from your employer stating:

–   Your position and salary

–   The length of your employment

–   Your leave approval

–   Name and contact details of your employer

+ If you own your own company, you must submit:

–   Business license

–   Recent business tax payments

+ If you are retired, provide evidence of retirement if any (E.g: Retirement certificate or pension receipt book)

5. Evidence of relationship

+ If you are visiting a boyfriend/ girlfriend, partner, relative or friend in New Zealand, please provide:

–   A copy of their passport

–   Letter of invitation from the person you intend to visit

–   Evidence of your relationship to the relative (Birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.)

–   Evidence of your relationship to your partner/ boyfriend/ girlfriend: account of the relationship and other evidence such as marriage certificate, correspondences, phone call lists, photos, etc.

6. Commitments in Vietnam:

+ Evidence of your commitments showing your strong reasons to return to Vietnam at the end of your stay in New Zealand.

+ They could include (but are not limited to) evidence that you personally

–   Have social and/or family responsibilities in Vietnam;

–   Are employed in Vietnam;

–   Own a business in Vietnam;

–   Have funds in Vietnam;

–   Own property or assets in Vietnam.

7. Character Requirements:

+ Applicants aged 17 or over intending to remain in New Zealand for 24 months or longer are required to provide a police certificate from the applicant’s home country and any country in which they have lived for 5 or more years since attaining the age of 17 years. Note that the 24 month period includes time already spent in New Zealand prior to the application being made.

+ Please note that a police certificate is NOT required if you have provided a police certificate to INZ within the 24 months preceding this application OR your total intended stay in New Zealand (including time already spent) is less than 24 months.

+ Certificate must be less than 6 months old when the application is submitted.

+ If you are a Vietnamese national living in Vietnam, please obtain the police certificate #2.

+ If you are a Vietnamese national who is outside of Vietnam, please obtain police certificate #1.

+ Please note that a Vietnamese Police Certificate must be issued by the Service of Justice of the city or province where your permanent residence is registered.

8. Medical Requirements:

+ Copy of your e-Medical information sheet.

+ If you intend to be in New Zealand for more than six months but less than one year, you must take a Chest X-ray as per Chest X-ray Certificate INZ 1096.

+ If you intend to be in New Zealand for more than one year, you must:

–   Complete full health check as per General Medical Certificate INZ 1007 unless you have provided a Medical Certificate to INZ within the 36 months preceding your application, and

–   Take a Chest X-ray as per INZ 1096.

Notes: A Chest X-ray is NOT required if:

–   You have provided a Chest X –ray Certificate INZ 1096 to INZ within the 36 months preceding this application, and

–   You have not spent the previous six consecutive months in any country that is not a low-incidence country for tuberculosis (TB).

+ Medical certificates must be less than 3 months old when the application is submitted.

+ All medical certificates must be completed by an INZ appointed panel doctor

+ If you are intending to do a short course of study in New Zealand you should provide:

–   Offer of place and/or receipt of payment either original or direct email confirmation to Immigration New Zealand from the New Zealand educational provider

–   A guarantee of accommodation from either the educational provider, or evidence from people who prepare and are able to provide the accommodation.

Notes: All documents not in English must be accompanied with an English translation from an independent and recognized translation company/service.
