Tourist Visa to South Africa

Visitors’ visas are for international travelers (citizens of other countries) who have permanent residence outside South Africa and who wish to visit the country on a temporary basis for tourism or business purposes for a period of 90 days or less.
Requirements for visitor’s visas differ from country to country (click here to see which countries are currently exempt) and from type of visa.

Documents required for Tourist Visa to South Africa:
1. Visa Application form
2. Passport ((valid for at least 30 days after the intended stay/departure date from South Africa; at least three unused/blank visa pages)
3. 2 photos sized 3.5×4.5 cm (not older than 30 days/1 month)
4. Personal documents:
+ Copy of identity card
+ Household registration record
+ Notarized copy of certification of marriage/ divorce
+ Children’s certificate of birth (if accompanying)
5. Proof of financial means:
+ Individual case:
– Saving book or bank balance verification including at least 100.000.000 VND
– Notarized copy of house/land registration documents
+ Organization/ company:
– Original covering letter including information about the company will bear the expenses of the trip
– Bank statement of company’s account
+ The inviter in South Africa:
– If in the invitation letter, the inviter will bear the expense of the trip, the invitee will only prove his/ her bank balance of at least 50.000.000 VND.
– Proof of inviter’s income, confirmation of tax in South Africa
6. Proof of employment:
+ In case of employee:
– A notarized copy of valid labor contract
– Original pay slips of last 6 months
– The leave application for traveling
+ In case of employer:
– A notarized copy in Vietnamese of Business Registration/ Investment License
– A notarized copy of TAX/ Payment to State Budget (latest 1 year)
– Bank statement of the company’s account
7. The invitation letter
+ In case you have invitation letter from South Africa:
– Information about the inviter and invitee (full name, date of birth, passport number)
– Reason why invite the applicant to South Africa
– Duration of visit: arrival date and exit date
– Letter must have the physical address, as well as contact details of authorized signature’s name, designation and signature of inviter
+ In case of no invitation letter:
– Translate your ID in English
– Certificate ownership housing and land using
– Notarized copy of family registration book
+ In case of inviter is Vietnamese living in South Africa:
– Certificate ownership housing and land using of inviter in South Africa
8. Vaccination certificate, (yellow fever) If applicant will travel through or stay in yellow fever belt. For the latest Yellow Fever Policy please click here
9. A day-to-day itinerary/travel plan covering your stay in South Africa
10. Proof of hotel booking (on Hotel’s Letterhead), (verifiable) stating the name, passport number of applicant(s) and duration of visit, physical address, as well as contact details of the hotel as well as authorized signature’s name, designation and signature
11. Confirmed return/onward air ticket/ Air Ticket booking Receipt
12. Global travel insurance
Notes:
+ All documents in Vietnamese related to proof of finance and employment must be notarized/ certified and accurately translated into English.
+ Non-refundable Visa fee when you are refused to South African visa
