Requirements for German Visitor Visa

Germany is a developed country in both economy and education, so many people, especially Vietnamese come Germany to work, study. Therefore, many people want to come there for visiting your relatives, so German Visitor Visa is the first document that you have to prepare.

What are requirements to apply for German Visitor Visa? Vietnam-legal.com will give the detail instruction for you to obtain this type of visa.

Documents required for German Visitor Visa:

1. Application form

2. Passport must be valid at least for 3 months

3. 2 passport-size photographs

4. Personal documents:

+ Copy of identity card

+ Household registration record

+ Notarized copy of certification of marriage/ divorce

5. Verification for your trip

+ Proof for relative relationship

+ Invitation letter: including the purpose, time period, etc.

+ Confirmation of booking hotel

+ Note: For a stay at a friend or a relative’s house, applicant must submit:

– Original invitation

– Copy of the passport or national identification card of the sponsor/ host

– Copy of residence permit the sponsor/host is foreigner

+Confirmation of return ticket

6. Proof of financial means:

+ If the applicant is sponsored: applicants’ proof of sponsorship by means of national form/ guarantee letter

+ Original bank account statements

+ Other documents: credit card, properties, or regular incomes generated by property

7. Proof of employment:

+ In case of employee:

– A notarized copy of valid labor contract

– Original pay slips of last 6 months

– Original annual leave consent from your employer.

+ In case of employer:

– A notarized copy in Vietnamese of Business Registration/ Investment License

– A notarized copy of TAX/ Payment to State Budget (latest 3 months/ latest quarter)

8. A copy of Travel Insurance, valid for all countries in the Schengen States, for the whole period of stay with minimum liability of Euro 30.000.

9. Other Documents: For minors (under 18 years) traveling with only one parent:

– Original parental consent letter

– Notarized copy of valid ID card or passport of the absent parent;

– Notarized copy of the minor’s birth certificate;

– Authorization of the change of the surname (if changed).

Important noted:

+ All copies of documents in Vietnamese must be notarized/ certified and accurately translated into English/ German. The translations do not need to be certified by any translation services.

For those who do not belong to “Visa Exemption to Germany” and want to travel for Business, German Business Visa is required firstly.

Documents to apply for Germany Business Visa:

1. Visa Application form

2. Passport must be valid at least 3 months and copy of passport

3. 2 passport-size photos

4. Personal documents:

+ Copy of identity card

+ Household registration record

+ Notarized copy of certification of marriage/ divorce

5. Proof of financial means:

+ Saving book or bank balance verification including at least 15.000 US$

+ Notarized copy of house/land registration documents

6. Documents perform the purpose of the trip

+ Official letter (original) with invitation, with date, name/s of guest/s and their enterprise, date of
travel/stay, purpose of stay, description of business relation

+ Copy of excerpt from the commercial register of the enterprise in Germany or, when applicable

+ Business registration of the enterprise in Germany

+ A recent letter from your employer, stating how long you are employed with the company, the kind of
business and duration of the business trip

+ In case you travel for the first time: documentation about the existing business relation (such as contracts, bills, shipping documents, customs declaration etc.)

+ Verification for company’s business:

– A notarized copy in Vietnamese of Business Registration/ Investment License

– A notarized copy of TAX/ Payment to State Budget (latest 1 year)

+ In case of joining a FAIR:

– Invitation of organizer, admission ticket or exhibitor ID

– Information about the fair

– Information (catalogue) with products of your enterprise, contract for exhibition booth

+ For purpose of research or training:

– The confirmation letter from the organizer/ host

– Student Identification Card

+ For purpose related to political, scientific, cultural, sport conferences:

+ Invitation letter, entry ticket, confirmation letter performing information about the organizer, time, or any documents related to the purpose of the trip

7. Proof of employment:

+ In case of employee:

– A notarized copy of valid labor contract

– Original pay slips of last 6 months

+ In case of employer:

– A notarized copy in Vietnamese of Business Registration/ Investment License

– A notarized copy of TAX/ Payment to State Budget (latest 1 year)

8. Confirmation of hotel, return air-ticket

9. A copy of Travel Insurance, valid for all countries in the Schengen States, for the whole period of stay with minimum liability of Euro 30.000.

(1). Persons who do not require a visa to enter Germany (holders of passports from the countries that are not marked by number on the list) may not remain on German territory for more than 90 days in any six month period. Nor may they take up gainful employment whilst here.

(2). Nationals of these states are not subject to the restrictions specified in footnote 1.

(3). Residence permits (also for stays of more than 3 months) may be applied for after entering Germany without a visa.

(4). Footnote 3 also applies provided gainful employment is not taken up.

(5). The visa waiver applies only to holders of biometric passports.

(6). The visa waiver applies to holders of SAR passports (Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Region passports).

(7). The visa waiver also applies to British Nationals (Overseas).

(8). The visa waiver applies only to holders of biometric passports (excluding holders of Serbian passports issued by the Serbian Coordination Directorate (in Serbian: Koordinaciona uprava)

(9). The exemption from the visa requirement applies only to holders of passports issued by Taiwan which include an identity card number.
